Fouzi Lekjaa, Morocco’s Minister Delegate for Economy and Finance, in charge of Budget, announced on Thursday that Morocco has officially launched all the projects necessary for Morocco’s hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, co-organized with Spain and Portugal.
Following a meeting of all relevant government agencies held at the Ministry of the Interior, Lekjaa stated, “Morocco will be ready to host this international event,” declaring optimistically, “This global tournament will be the best in the history of all tournaments, just as Morocco’s monarch envisioned!”
The meeting is one of a series of similar meetings that have been held since Morocco won the bid to co-host the 2030 World Cup. The minister observed that all stakeholders in the budget attended.
“All the work that has been done and what will need to be accomplished in the shortest possible time frame are being assessed, and Morocco will submit the joint bid before the end of July. The International Association Football Federation will vote on it before the end of the current year,” Lekjaa said. He did not reveal any details about what would be in the joint bid.
In October, Morocco, Portugal, and Spain officially lodged at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland their Letter of Intent to hold the FIFA World Cup 2030.
