Ten separatists from the southern regions of the Moroccan Sahara reportedly traveled from Casablanca to Tindouf on Sunday, passing through the capitals of Tunisia and Algeria to receive military training from Algeria’s military regime, well-informed sources said.
The group, which is comprised of three women and seven men, will allegedly participate in various activities, including a film festival. Such trainings in guerrilla warfare tactics are very often conducted and it is unclear if they are funded by Algerian taxpayers or not.
Such activities are usually spearheaded and encouraged by separatist activist Aminatou Haidar who takes residence in Las Palmas and Europe.
The Moroccan authorities allow similar travels, which fall under freedom of movement and speech, and are rather tolerant towards such individuals despite their political affiliations.
