Morocco has broadened the spectrum of digital consular services available to its citizens living abroad by releasing two new platforms, “Rendez-vous” and “e-stamp,” to facilitate citizen services at all its diplomatic missions and consular posts around the world, Morocco News Agency MAP reported on Sunday.
Launched on April 1, the new platforms are intended to deliver high-quality consular services to Moroccan expatriates while also addressing long-standing community concerns about the need to streamline consular services and reduce wait times.
The implementation of an appointment management system modeled after practices in host country governments is intended to meet expatriates’ expectations and desires for more contemporary and efficient consular services.
Citizens will be able to select time slots and dates based on their convenience, not just the consulates’.
Adoption of the new “e-stamp” system, a digital payment portal, is a significant step toward the modernization of consular operations and should increase transparency and make administrative processes more efficient.
Since April 1, over 3.2 million appointments have been processed on Rendez-vous, accommodating more than 5 million consular service requests from Moroccan expats. Meanwhile, the “e-stamp” technology has facilitated more than 2.8 million consular transactions, greatly expediting the procedure.
The consular contact center and Consular Services of the Kingdom Abroad offer help to users to guarantee the success of these efforts. The use of Electronic Payment Terminals (EPTs) in diplomatic posts is also enhancing efforts to modernize Morocco’s consular services.
