The Maroc Historic Rally’s 14th edition concluded on Saturday in the commune of Bourrous, located in the Rehamna province (central Morocco). The week-long event took place from April 21–27 and attracted competitors from all over the world, who also gathered to celebrate automotive history.
Covering over 1,500 kilometers, the rally was organized by the “Club des Sports Mécaniques Grand Maghreb,” in partnership with the Moroccan Federation of Ancient Vehicles (FMVA) and the Royal Moroccan Automobile Club (RACM).
The event also included 400 kilometers of competitive special stages intended to revive the classic rally traditions, explore rarely used routes, and showcase remote regions of Morocco.
Enthusiasts of motorsports from around the world attended the closing ceremony, which marked the end of a journey honoring Morocco’s rich racing heritage dating back to 1912. Crews aboard around 40 vintage vehicles traversed various towns and regions, including Casablanca, Bouskoura, Bouznika, Aguelmouss, Ifrane, Khenifra, Bin El Ouidane, El Brouj, Skour Rhamna, and Bourrous, after passing through Marrakech.
The organizers of this year’s rally have deployed over 300 people and significant logistical resources to guarantee the event’s success and competitors’ comfort.
Riding a Ford Escort RS 2000, Auriol D and Giraudet D led the group and secured the first position on the podium, completing the race in 4 hours, 28 minutes, and 31.8 seconds. Devedza A and Vilmot M, aboard their Porsche 911 SC, came in second, while Lafay P and Quartini C, driving a Ford Escort, claimed the third spot.
In a statement to the press, Yves Loubet, promoter of the event, offered a detailed overview of the Rally’s emblematic history, labeling it “one of the world’s greatest rallies.”
“Each time it’s a pleasure to be back in Morocco,” he said, highlighting the warm and special welcome extended to the drivers throughout the event.
Chakib Rahmoune, President of the Grand Maghreb Club, highlighted the historical importance of this annual event and the considerable efforts made to make it as emblematic as possible.
