An Algerian army patrol reportedly shot and killed three young gold miners in the eastern part of the “Dakhla camp” in Tindouf on Friday, according to well-informed sources of Barlaman.com.
The victims, from the Rguibat Jenha, Labrabiche, and Tinouajib tribes, were involved in illegal gold mining when a motorized unit attacked them. The miners, who were boarding a pickup truck, were shot at point-blank range.
Residents of Tindouf face severe poverty and rely on international aid for survival. Living conditions are dire, with limited resources and opportunities. They also endure violence, including killings, as reported by locals.
