The Kingdom of Morocco is experiencing a shift from a recent heatwave to a cold spell, as indicated in the meteorological warning bulletin released by the Meteorological Agency (DGM), on Friday.
In an orange-level alert, DGM warns of heavy rains, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts, and local dust storms expected on Saturday in multiple provinces.
According to the DGM, heavy rains, at times accompanied by thunderstorms and ranging from 25-40 millimeters, are expected on Saturday from midnight until 3 P.M. in the provinces of Boulemane, Fes, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Guercif, Taounate, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Taza, Taourirt, and Meknes.
Strong gusts of wind, ranging from 70-85 kilometers per hour, along with local dust storms, are expected to blow on the same day, from 10 A.M. until 11 P.M., in Errachidia and Figuig, as well as at higher elevations within the provinces of Guelmim, Tata, Sidi Ifni, and Tiznit.
