Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) arrested on Wednesday in Marrakech three foreign nationals, one Chinese, one Ukrainian, and one Lithuanian, on suspicion of narcotics trafficking especially fentanyl, and connections with drug cartels, pursuant to a red notice issued by the United States.
The suspects, aged 22 to 25, are suspected of being associated with crime networks involved in international drug trafficking and money laundering, according to the statement.
They have been remanded into police custody pending further investigation, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
The Interpol Bureau in Rabat is responsible for notifying the relevant American authorities of their arrest before initiating extradition procedures.
