Morocco’s Justice Minister Abdelatif Ouahbi signed a memorandum of understanding with his Belgian counterpart Paul Van Tigchelt on Monday to cooperate on modernizing the administration of its judicial system.
The partnership covers digitizing and improving judicial administrative processes, building human resource capabilities, exchange of information on legislative developments relevant to the justice system, and providing technical support for justice reform projects.
“This agreement builds on the existing judicial cooperation protocol between the two countries,” Ouahbi said. “We consider it a great appreciation of the strong historical partnership between Morocco and Belgium. Through this, the path of justice will be strengthened by modernizing its administration, enhancing its administrative capacities, developing its resources, modernizing and digitizing judicial administration, and strengthening its governance.”
The Belgian Minister of Justice expressed his appreciation for the judicial cooperation between the two countries, praising the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco in justice system reform.
Ouahbi received Van Tigchelt and a high-level delegation on Monday in Rabat at the Justice Ministry headquarters following the third session of the Moroccan-Belgian Joint High Committee.
