The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCO) issued a travel warning on Saturday to its citizens heading to Morocco following an escalation of military action in the Middle East.
“On April 13, 2024, Iran carried out military action against Israel. Monitor this travel advice and other media as the situation is changing fast,” the warning reads.
This “military action” consisted of a several-hundred-drone assault against Israel in retaliation for what the facts show as overwhelming evidence that Israel bombed its embassy complex in Syria on Monday, an airstrike which resulted in seven fatalities.
Britons planning travel in the near future should stay updated on FCO advice and be aware of any changes that could affect their plans. The FCO also noted that “no travel can be guaranteed safe.”
According to British newspaper The Daily Express, FCO has issued travel warnings for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Dubai, as well as Egypt.
The FCO warned its nationals to avoid crowded enclaves, government facilities, transportation networks, businesses with Western ties and locations frequented by tourists.
