Sweltering heat is forecast to hit several regions of the Moroccan Kingdom from Thursday to Monday–with temperatures soaring as high as 42°C–accompanied by strong gusts of wind, Morocco’s Meteorological Agency (DGM) announced in a bulletin.
The provinces of Es-Semara, Tan-Tan, Tarfaya, Aousserd, Oued Eddahab, Boujdour, and Laayoune will experience temperatures ranging between 38 and 42°C from Thursday to Monday, according to DGM.
On Thursday and Friday, temperatures are projected to rise between 35 and 39°C in Agadir-Ida Outanane, Taroudant, Guelmim, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Sidi Ifni, Fquih Ben Salah, Assa-Zag, Essaouira, Kelaat Sraghna, Marrakech, Rhamna, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Tiznit, Tata, Settat, Al Haouz, and Chichaoua, according to the bulletin.
The DGM also forecasts strong wind gusts expected to reach 70-85 km/h on Friday and Saturday in Fahs Anjra, Tetouan, Tangier and Assilah, Chefchaouen, and the mountainous regions of Larache.
