Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, reiterated during the plenary session of Spain’s Congress of Deputies held on Wednesday, that continuing cooperation reflects the “excellence” of Spain’s mutually beneficial relations with Morocco in every respect.
Noting that his last visit to the Kingdom in February had provided a fresh impetus to bilateral relations, he told Spain’s Lower House, “We enjoy excellent cooperation with Morocco, particularly in the fight against terrorism, illegal immigration, and mafias involved in human trafficking.”
He observed that cooperation extends to culture and sports, as evidenced by ”expanding the Cervantes Institute network in Morocco and organizing the Football World Cup with Morocco and Portugal in 2030.”
Sánchez also praised “improvements” in security, financial, and commercial matters between the two countries. “We are the leading commercial supplier to Morocco, which is an interesting growth platform for Spanish companies, where major projects are being developed in renewable energy, water management, infrastructure and transport,” he said. “Morocco’s prosperity will be reflected in our prosperity.”
