Brussels’ Charleroi Airport announced on Monday the forthcoming operations by a new airline, Air Arabia Maroc–a leading low-cost airline and member of UAE’s Air Arabia Group–which will feature two weekly flights to Oujda, in the northeast of the Kingdom of Morocco, according to a press release issued by the airport authority.
From June 21 to September 13, the Moroccan carrier will operate this route deploying Airbus A320 aircraft with a seating capacity of 180, connecting Morocco’s northeastern province to the airport just south of Brussels.
Philippe Verdonck, Chief Executive Officer for Charleroi Airport, expressed delight in stating, “We look forward to working with Air Arabia Maroc. The arrival of this new airline contributes to the diversity of options and services available from our airport.”
He added, “This summer, nine Moroccan destinations will be available for our passengers, meaning that travelers will be able to explore Morocco, and the Moroccan community can get closer to their families for a summer break.”
The press release added that Air Arabia Maroc is the sixth carrier to join the network of airlines settled in Charleroi, following Ryanair, Wizzair, Pegasus Airlines, Air Corsica, and Volotea.
