Morocco’s Railway Office (ONCF) has announced that it will deploy up to 240 trains per day for Eid Al-Fitr (marking the end of Ramadan) from April 5 to 16, with a focus on most popular destinations within the Kingdom,
This special transportation plan was developed in anticipation of the increased flow of passengers during the Muslim holiday, and to ensure the smooth and safe travel of customers, the Office said in a statement.
The ONCF plans to make the high-speed train “Al Boraq” available on an hourly basis (from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) to connect the city of Tangier to Kenitra, Rabat, and Casablanca, with more seats in peak hours.
As for Al Atlas, the ONCF will increase seating capacities and schedule additional trains on the busiest routes of Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes, Oujda, Nador, Khouribga, and Safi.
Technical teams will be on-call 24/7 to ensure an optimal train experience.
The ONCF recommends that travelers purchase their tickets ahead of time and opt for round-trip tickets to avoid crowded stations.
Tickets can be bought from ticket counters or vending machines, online from website www.oncf-voyages.ma, or from partner agencies for local sales (Cash Plus, Barid Cash, and Tasshilat).
Clients are advised on the day of Eid Al-Fitr to check their schedules on ONCF website as the number of trains will be reduced. Customer Relations Center: 2255 (local call cost), the ONCF TRAFIC app for real-time traffic updates, and the M’ONCF chatbot at 06 67 65 22 55 are made available to assist.
