After the substantial rainfall over the last few days, a heatwave with temperatures ranging between 34 and 39 degrees is expected to be recorded starting Thursday to Sunday in several regions of Morocco, according to an orange alert issued by the Meteorological Agency (DGM).
The DGM said that the heatwave is expected in Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Settat, Kelaat Sraghna, El Rahamna, Marrakech, Azilal, El Haouz, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Tata, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Assa-Zag, Tarfaya, Laayoune, Boujdour, Smara, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Es-Semara.
Scorching weather is also predicted on Friday in Kenitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Skhirat-Temara, Khemisset, Sale, Rabat, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Nouaceur, Mohammedia, Mediouna, Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Safi, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, and Tiznit.
Temperatures ranging between 34 and 38 degrees are also anticipated from Friday to Saturday in cities such as Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Jerada, and Taourirt.
