Kenyan President William Ruto plans to come to Morocco on official business in the coming weeks to discuss the establishment of the fertilizer industry in his country, said Kenyans outlet on Tuesday.
Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’Oei and Morocco’s chief of diplomacy Nasser Bourita were reported to have discussed Ruto’s visit to Morocco.
Sing’Oei traveled to Morocco on March 21 to present Ruto’s request for negotiations to King Mohammed VI, which was later granted.
The official agreement to create a fertilizer firm in Kenya is likely to be unveiled during President Ruto’s travel to Morocco.
According to reports, Agriculture Cabinet Sec. Mithika Linturi is in talks with Moroccan fertilizer OCP on the future of this plant.
Kenya is anticipated to follow in the footsteps of Nigeria and Ethiopia, countries which have already profited from Moroccan fertilizer expertise.
The declaration comes three weeks after Kenya established its embassy in Morocco. On March 8, Ruto named Jessica Muthoni Gakinya as Kenya’s next ambassador to Morocco.
