Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto traveled to Morocco at the end of last week following his Purim celebrations with numerous students in Manhattan in New York City, the Jerusalem Post reported on Tuesday.
Upon his arrival in Essaouira, Rabbi Pinto visited the resting place of the revered sage Rabbi Chaim Pinto (haGadol), who died in 1845. He offered a special prayer for the well-being of all Jews worldwide.
“We are all praying for peace in the Land of Israel and peace in the entire world,” he said. “May we soon see the attribute of justice cease and the world filled with the attribute of loving-kindness and mercy.”
Commending the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Rabbi Pinto highlighted the country’s law enforcement for ensuring the safety of Jews in Morocco compared to those in New York and Europe.
After his stop in Morocco, Rabbi Pinto traveled to Poland to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, the renowned author of the Noam Elimelech, a classic work containing the teachings of the revered Hasidic rabbi.
