Morocco will be the Country of Honor when it accepts its invitation to the 37th edition of the “El Salón Gourmets” (Gourmets Show), the most exclusive event in the quality food and beverage industry, which will take place at Ifema Madrid from April 22-25, according to Spanish Outlet Press Digital on Wednesday. Andalusia, the Spanish autonomous community, will also be featured.
Morocco will occupy a portion of Pavilion 3 and will demonstrate the richness of its native pantry as well as its culinary idiosyncrasies, as evidenced by the diversity and intensity of flavors that converge in such emblematic dishes as couscous, tagine, mechoui (roasted lamb), and honey-and-nut sweets.
During the fair, one will be able to learn about Moroccan gastronomic culture and sample a variety of its traditional dishes and gastronomic products from Morocco, according to Foodex, a public organization under the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests charged with regulating and coordinating agricultural and fishing exports.
The Moroccan delegation has stated that the Gourmets Show is “a unique showcase,” of which the Kingdom’s participation will help facilitate the placement of its luxury foods and beverages into the worldwide market.
This reinforces the Gourmet Show’s international character, as products from various countries such as Germany, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, and Ukraine will be present in this edition. Each of these countries will have their own designated space.
Outside of Europe, Argentina, Canada, China and the Chinese administrative area of Hong Kong, along with Costa Rica, the United States, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Peru, and Thailand, will also be represented.
The southern Spanish region of Andalusia will also showcase the gastronomy festival, presenting their new seal “Gusto del Sur” (“Flavor of the South”).
The activities will be hosted only in Pavilion 5 of Ifema Madrid, with 50 gourmet enterprises, independent councils, and businesses from Jaén, Córdoba, Seville, Cádiz, Landaluz, Huelva, Almería, and Málaga. Activities, tastings, and demonstrations centered on a variety of products, including extra virgin olive oil, fruits, vegetables, cereals, legumes, pastries, Iberian products, meat, seafood, wines, spirits, and countless others, will be available.
This year, the events supported by the localities of the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, and Granada will be granted individual thematic days. These will take place in various settings in Pavilion 3 and will showcase the excellence of national products.
