Salé’s Mohammed VI Football Complex is currently hosting a three-day workshop, gathering stadium inspectors from the 54 member associations of the African Football Federation (CAF), according to a press release.
Opened on Monday by Fouzi Lekjaa, Head of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and CAF Executive Committee Member, the event intends to address the construction and maintenance of sports infrastructure.
Lekjaa underscored the importance of investing in world-class infrastructure and maintaining the facilities.
“With African football enjoying unprecedented global interest thanks to the world-class TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, CAF is hosting a CAF Stadium Inspectors Workshop at Mohammed VI Sports Complex,” stated a press release from CAF.
The statement reported that the candidates have been tasked with monitoring the infrastructure across the African Continent.
The workshop focuses on specific areas including the regulatory framework for CAF stadiums, inspection guidelines, pitch quality, lighting, safety and security measures, as well as media and TV facilities.
The ultimate goal is to guarantee that stadiums fulfill the standards outlined in the CAF Stadium Regulations (update 2022).
Participants are going to participate in both theoretical and practical exercises throughout the workshop, with on-site visits to stadiums conducted by designated CAF Departmental Heads.
At the end of the courses, every candidate will be assessed for their abilities in evaluating various areas of stadium infrastructure.
