The Provincial Judicial Police Department in Casablanca has initiated a judicial inquiry, overseen by the Public Prosecutor’s office, following a recent phone call received by Hit Radio. The call, made during the Momo Morning Show segment, discussed an alleged theft and insinuated negligence on the part of security services, according to a security source.
The source disclosed that the caller utilized a false identity and concocted a fake theft scenario while conversing with the radio station. After about an hour, the individual phoned back from another number, claiming the incident occurred with regard to a friend, detailing the purported theft during the call. Allegedly, the thief fled on a motorcycle after snatching an iPhone 14, purchased just ten days prior.
Momo Morning Show host, Mohamed Bousfiha, known as Momo, provided the caller with an iPhone 15, attributing the theft to the call with the show. Authorities suspect the caller’s motive was personal gain and to boost the radio station’s audience.
Casablanca’s police services summoned Momo on Monday to question him regarding the alleged theft incident.
Ongoing investigations led to the arrest of another individual involved in similar fraudulent activities, employing identical tactics.
The Provincial Judicial Police Department continues its inquiry, examining digital evidence to ascertain any potential collaboration between the suspects and the program team.
