The Banque Populaire Group (BCP), Morocco’s second largest bank, opened its first branch in El Guerguarate, South of Morocco, on Friday, marking a further decentralization step to boost economic growth in the Kingdom’s southern provinces.
Worth 3.5 million dirhams, the new facility covers a surface area totaling 385 m2 and includes a bank agency, Chaabi Cash (for money transfer) and two premises.
The Group is increasing its contribution to the growth of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, which has a high economic potential and benefits from large investments in key industries such as fishing, tourism, and renewable energy.
The new branch was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab Ali Khalil, governor of the province of Aousserd Abderrahaman El Jaouhari, and President of BCP Group Mohamed Karim Mounir, as well as elected officials.
