Canada-based Aya Gold and Silver Inc. announced the progression of 50% of its airborne MobileMT geophysical survey, and has secured the exploration of six permits for the Boumadine Project -near Tinghir- with an exploration portfolio that totals up to 141.4 square kilometers in an area of 58 km squares, said the company’s release on Tuesday.
The company has completed 50% of a 6,515 linear km aerial MobileMT geophysical survey and has drilled 11,130 meters of DDH YTD as part of an ambitious 120,000 m exploration program.
Aya Gold and Silver’s President & CEO Benoit La Salle boasted in the release, “We are excited to consolidate further and increase our footprint by 70%, as our largest annual drill program ever at Boumadine continues to exceed expectations and indicate significant potential.”
Last year, Aya has more than tripled its surface footprint from its original mining permit in what it considers to be one of Morocco’s most promising and underexplored locations.
Currently, four DDH rigs are in operation at Boumadine, with three more surface rigs scheduled in the following weeks as part of the 120,000 m drill exploration program.
The corporation will probe targets created by exploratory activity in 2023 and 2022, such as drilling, hyperspectral surveys, detailed aerial geophysics (magnetics and electromagnetics), mapping, and prospecting.
The 2024 program will test strike extensions of the Boumadine Main Trend, the N030 and N70 structures, Tizi Zone extensions, and other exploration targets based on mapping and prospecting data.
