Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national carrier, has announced the addition of three new international destinations to its network that will connect Casablanca to Manchester, England; Naples, Italy; and Abuja, Nigeria, to enhance its global reach and prepare for increased summer traffic.
Starting June 22, RAM will begin operating direct flights from Casablanca to Naples twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays. The flights will depart from Mohammed V International Airport at 4:15 p.m. and arrive at 8:30 p.m. The Naples-Casablanca flight will depart at 9:30 p.m. and arrive at 11:50 p.m.
RAM will also launch a new air connection from Casablanca to Manchester on June 23, with three weekly departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The departure time from Casablanca is 1:45 p.m., and the flight is expected to arrive around 5:20 p.m. The return flight will depart at 6:20 p.m. and arrive in Casablanca at 9:45 p.m.
Starting the same day, the air carrier is launching a new direct route to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, operating three times a week on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departure from Casablanca will be at 01:15, and from Abuja at 07:10.
RAM’s Chairman and CEO, Abdelhamid Addou, stated that adding these three new routes is part of the company’s expansion strategy to broaden air links in prospective markets to meet growing demand within nations that have “an important Moroccan diaspora.”
He also explained that the company has introduced new routes to expand its footprint in Africa and boost tourism in Morocco. “The plan is to use airlines to advertise Morocco as a tourist destination,” he said.
