The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received Morocco’s Ambassador to Moscow Lotfi Bouchaara, reported the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry last Friday.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the ongoing development of amicable relations between Russia and Morocco, focusing on maintaining an active political dialogue to address crises in the Middle East and North Africa in line with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
On March 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks with UNSG Personal Envoy for Sahara, Staffan De Mistura. They discussed procedures to reinvigorate the political process under De Mistura following his recent engagements with all parties involved in the Sahara conflict.
“The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of reaching a fair, long-term and mutually acceptable solution to the Sahara issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” it was reported.
