The Attijariwafa Bank and the NGO Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development (CEED Morocco) signed a partnership on March 7, 2024, to boost innovation and promote the development of startup companies within the financial/technical sector, the bank said in a press release on Wednesday.
The partnership will offer tailored support programs to cultivate a new generation of internationally-minded entrepreneurs and intends to foster innovation.
The agreement focuses on open innovation, innovation culture and expertise, entrepreneurship, investment, and mentoring.
As part of this comprehensive partnership, the Attijariwafa Bank Group, through its innovation entity Wenov and CEED Morocco, launched the 4th edition of the Open Innovation – Fintech Catalyst program, Attijariwafa Bank added.
This program will identify startup companies within the aforementioned category whose solutions can expedite transformation projects within the group. Selected startups/fintechs will undergo an acceleration program involving co-creation sessions with business teams.
The most successful bids will lead to the issuance of purchase orders at the end of the program.
Previous editions have resulted in 24 experiments in innovative categories, with over half coming to fruition. This has helped reduce the time-to-market for innovative projects within the group and has contributed to the growth of startups/fintechs within this sector.
