Three people were killed and four others were injured in a mass shooting at a private party in an abandoned building in Jonesboro, Arkansas, early Sunday morning, local news media reported.
The Jonesboro Police said that the shooter, who has not yet been publicly identified, is also dead.
While the motive of the shooting is unknown, the police indicated that the male and female victims who died were acquaintances of the shooter. Three of the injured individuals had no known ties to the suspect, while one injured woman was known to him.
Police spokesperson Sally Smith described the incident as a domestic shooting and told CNN that the two dead women were sisters.
The incident is one of 73 mass shootings already in the US this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as one in which at least four people are shot, excluding the shooter.
