Icelandic low-cost airline “LCC Play” is adding direct flights to Marrakech, making travel easier for European and North American travelers, airline magazine “Simple Flying” reported on Tuesday.
The low-cost carrier will begin weekly direct flights from Keflavik International Airport in Iceland’s capital Reykjavík to the Red City’s Marrakech Menara airport beginning Oct. 17th.
Tickets for the new Airbus A320 route are now on sale for regular flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
The link was made possible through a collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourist Office, which aspires to improve the country’s air connectivity and attract more visitors.
Marrakech will not only be easily accessible to Icelanders, but LCC PLAY’s network will also link North American and European customers, capitalizing on Iceland’s strategic location between the two continents.
While most European passengers already have easy access to direct flights to Marrakech or other destinations in Morocco, North American customers at present can fly direct only to Casablanca and only on Royal Air Maroc.
LCC Play will also offer direct flights to Madeira, Portugal, beginning Oct. 15th.
