A massive blaze broke out at AR-Razi Hospital for Mental and Psychological Disorders in Tangier on Wednesday, resulting in the death of three patients due to severe asphyxiation. A number of other patients were injured.
The fire originated in a patient’s dormitory, where it engulfed the entire room.
Firefighters contained the fire before it could spread to other sections of the hospital.
The injured were transferred to Mohammed V Hospital for treatment, while the deceased were taken to the morgue. An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to determine the cause of the fire.
