Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health and Social Protection, received Mali’s Minister of Health and Social Development, Colonel Assa Badiallo Toure, on Monday in Rabat, to discuss Morocco’s health system reform and the Royal initiative to generalize social protection and health insurance.
Colonel Badiallo Toure is on a working visit to Morocco wherein she participated in the 11th African Conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights.
The exchange focused on potential collaboration between the two countries, particularly in health and social protection, according to an official statement from the Health Ministry.
The meeting highlighted Morocco’s expertise in healthcare management, as well as in addressing natural disasters and health crises.
The discussions also underlined Morocco’s efforts to support and strengthen healthcare systems in Africa, particularly through South-South cooperation with Sub-Saharan African countries.
Minister Ait Taleb said that Morocco invested a lot in building the capacities of its human resources through health training programs, experience sharing, and active engagement in regional exchanges.
“Morocco also contributes to infrastructure development in neighboring African countries, mass immunization as well as disease eradication by providing medical assistance, particularly to combat epidemics and pandemics such as Ebola and Covid-19,” he stated.
