President of Morocco’s National Council for Human Rights (CNDH), Amina Bouayach received “le Prix Femmes Avenir 2024” (Women’s Future Prize 2024) from the Hispanic-French Friendship Association, on Monday in Madrid, in recognition of her “commitment to the protection and promotion of fundamental rights”.
President of the Spanish Council of State Carmen Calvo delivered the prize to Morocco’s Ambassador to Spain Karima Benyaich, at a ceremony organized on the 7th International Conference on Women and Diplomacy.
In a video address, the CNDH chief said that this achievement is a fruit of Morocco’s strong commitment to spreading Human and Women’s Rights, in accordance with King Mohammed VI’s directives.
Bouayach dedicated this prize to “all women” who should be held in high esteem for their daily struggle and to all those who need support and recognition for their steadfast efforts to defend women’s rights.
Bouayach added that “upholding human rights is a prerequisite for progress towards equality, justice and innovative thinking underlying our common goals.”
“We can reinvent women’s life stories, enabling each of them to pursue a unique and differentiated path towards equality as a pillar of North-South cooperation,” she concluded.
The jury hailed Bouayach’s exemplary journey in waging a relentless fight for justice, equality and human rights in Morocco, describing her as a “Human Rights defender”, with commitment resonating beyond Morocco’s borders.
