Spain’s Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, began talks with members of the Moroccan government in Rabat on Monday as part of a two-day working visit, the first of its kind.
The Spanish minister is expected to meet his counterpart, Mohamed Abdeljalil, with whom he will discuss mechanisms by which to develop the partnership with Morocco in the fields of transport and logistics.
Puente will also inquire about the Kingdom’s planned infrastructure projects, particularly in the rail sector.
The following day, the Spanish minister will be received by the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, to discuss Morocco’s port projects, notably Dakhla Atlantique and Nador West Med, as well as other subjects of common interest.
Puente is also expected in Casablanca, where he will inspect Spanish transport company Alsa’s facilities.
