British research company Brand Finance has ranked Morocco 50th in its just released “Global Soft Power Index 2024,” with the kingdom coming in third in Africa and sixth in the “Arab World.”
Remaining at the top of the Maghreb countries again this year, Brand Finance highlighted the “remarkable” evolution in Morocco’s “future resilient” index, which has risen ten places.
Morocco’s performance also improved in the categories of “media and communication” and “science and education,” which have risen by eight and four places, respectively.
Morocco finished third in Africa, trailing only Egypt (39th overall, 44.9 points) and South Africa (43rd, 43.7 points).
While the United Arab Emirates led the Arab World countries as the “most influential Arab State,” ranking tenth with 59.7 points, KSA climbed up, finishing 18th with 56 points. Qatar ranked third among Arab nations and 21st internationally, with 45.5 points, followed by Kuwait, 37 globally, with 45.3 points, and Egypt, which rounded out the top five most influential “Arab countries.”
On a global scale, the United States maintained the lead in the rankings, ahead of the United Kingdom and China. Japan and Germany rounded out the top five globally.
The ranking is based on field surveys and interviews conducted by worldwide experts, based on surveys conducted with over 100,000 respondents in more than 100 markets throughout the world.
Brand Finance ranks countries’ “soft” power based on performance indicators such as business and commerce, governance, international relations, cultural heritage, media and communication, education and science, and people and values.
