Morocco strongly condemned and denounced the Israeli Defense Forces’ attack on Palestinians who were waiting to receive humanitarian aid on Thursday on Al-Rashid Avenue in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israel’s “heinous act resulted in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries,” Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita said at a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Riyadh on Sunday.
Emphasizing the kingdom’s “absolute rejection” of violations of international humanitarian law, Bourita said “Morocco calls for an independent and transparent investigation into this abhorrent act and for those responsible to be held accountable.”
The Minister also reiterated the urgent appeal of King Mohammed VI, Al-Quds Committee Chairperson, to the international community to intervene to achieve an immediate, sustainable, and comprehensive ceasefire, to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians, and to guarantee the safety of the Palestinian people.
