British Special Envoy for Trade to Morocco Rob Butler highlighted on Thursday the huge potential for developing even more robust trade relations between Britain and Morocco.
“Last year, bilateral trade exchanges totaled nearly 4.42 billion UDS (3.5 billion pounds sterling),” Butler told the press following discussions yesterday with Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita. “This is a clear demonstration of the potential opportunities that exist between the two countries.”
The British Special Envoy noted that the United Kingdom and Morocco can enhance their trade relations in various sectors, especially in green energy, that offer “enormous potential for both our countries.”
Trade can serve as a driving force not only for economic growth, but also for societal development and the emergence of prosperous nations, he suggested.
London and Rabat enjoy “extremely important relations,” characterized by strong commercial potential, he noted.
Butler’s visit reflects the UK’s policy priority of strengthening economic ties with Morocco, particularly in trade and investment, and exploring avenues of cooperation in numerous areas such as infrastructure, aerospace, healthcare, agriculture, and education.
