A well-informed source has strongly dismissed circulating rumors on Friday about the demise of Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) former President Said Naciri, who is presently being held at the Casablanca Ain Sebaa 1 local prison, refuting the misinformation on social media platforms.
Naciri remains part of a broader legal scope which centers around Hadj Ahmed Ben Ibrahim, a.k.a., the “Malian Drug Baron,” also known notoriously as the “Escobar of the Sahara.” Ben Ibrahim was arrested in 2019 for having played a significant role in international drug trafficking with connections to Latin America and West Africa.
Rumors multiplied around the detainees of this particular case.
Addressing previous rumors about Naciri’s health ten days ago, the prison management stressed that he maintains regular activity within the facility, engaging in extensive conversations with his defense team, who visit him on a routine basis.
The administration also mentioned the fact that Naciri had made a request for transfer to an external hospital–and that this request was baseless, despite his defense team previously having made a similar request–calling into question his health constraints during court hearings.
