Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration, received on Tuesday Romania’s National Defense Minister Angel Tilvar, who is currently on a working visit to Morocco.
The Romanian ambassador to Morocco accompanied Tilvar, along with a sizeable delegation from that nation.
During the visit, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement in the military and technical fields in the presence of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) Inspector General and Commander of the Southern Zone, Major General Mohammed Berrid.
The cooperation agreement encompasses the areas of training exercises, the defense industry, technical support/exchange of technical expertise, the military–including the establishment of a joint military commission–along with health, cybersecurity, and an agenda by which to hold reciprocal meetings for collaborative aims in both Rabat and Bucharest.
The two parties addressed the current state of relations between Morocco and Romania, highlighting their positive and constructive efforts in maintaining stability, security, and peace in their respective regions, as well as underscoring the pivotal role that both nations play–and will continue to play–in shaping future foreign policy in light of their geostrategic positions.
Tilvar also noted the highly prioritized nature of the partnership with Morocco, expressing his admiration for Morocco’s impressive level of economic and social development which has made Morocco a dynamic actor and a bastion of stability and peace for both the Euro-Mediterranean and North Africa.
The two officials also expressed the common ambition and desire to strengthen ties through the implementation of the provisions of the signed cooperation agreement and the regular exchange of visits by the two countries’ officials.
