For its tenth year, Morocco is exhibiting at the International Agriculture Show (SIA) at the Parc des Expositions that is taking place in Paris from February 24 to March 3.
The SIA, inaugurated in 1964, is one of the world’s largest expositions dedicated to food and agriculture. Featuring approximately 1,050 exhibitors this year, it is expected to bring together consumers, decision-makers, supply chain operators, and agricultural innovation researchers.
“Moroccan local products have seen significant growth since 2008, thanks to a comprehensive strategy focusing on market development and upstream aspects, which has been accelerated by the implementation of the “Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy,” the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA) in charge of overseeing the Moroccan Pavilion at the Fair, stated in a press release.
Over 30 groups, representing a broad variety of roughly a hundred Moroccan local products from all 12 regions of the Kingdom, are exhibiting their wares in Paris.
Comprised of 82 cooperatives and over 1,230 small-scale farmers, including 610 rural women (49%), the groups are promoting products such as argan oil, saffron, dates, aromatic and medicinal herbs, spices, and almonds.
Participants received coaching and training prior to the fair to prepare them to engage with both the general public and potential buyers and importers.
This year’s Moroccan pavilion, featuring the theme “Morocco, Centuries of Flavors,” offers guests an immersive and colorful sensory experience that highlights the gastronomic and cultural richness of the millennia-old kingdom.
