Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez unveiled Spain’s ambitious plan to invest a whopping 45 billion euros in Morocco by 2050, at a press conference in Rabat on Wednesday during his working visit to the kingdom.
Remarking on the “positive evolution” of commercial exchanges between the two nations, Sanchez highlighted his country as a significant strategic partner for Morocco going forward.
“The economic alliance is poised for further reinforcement, especially with regard to Spain, Morocco, and Portugal’s joint organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup,” the Prime Minister said.
He commended Morocco’s significant efforts to modernize its economy and noted the active participation of Spanish businesses in critical sectors such as transportation, renewable energy, and water resource management.
During his visit, Sanchez also met with King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Rabat to discuss bilateral relations and collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including Spain’s support for Morocco’s 2007 Autonomy Plan to resolve the Sahara conflict.
