Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will pay an official visit to Morocco on Wednesday, announced Spanish news agency EFE on Tuesday. Sanchez will be accompanied by Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
EFE reported that the Spanish government was informed of this visit on Tuesday, February 20.
Sánchez will hold talks with senior Moroccan officials, including Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch.
Sanchez will be received by King Mohammed VI, official Spanish sources said.
Sánchez’s previous official visit to Morocco took place on February 2, 2023, during which he co-chaired with his Moroccan counterpart Akhannouch the 12th high-level meeting between the two countries.
The two officials signed nineteen MoUs addressing a variety of issues.
The highlights of the meeting include a financial agreement worth 800 million euros to support priority projects, particularly with respect to infrastructure, renewable energy, education, health facilities, and productive sectors.
