Policemen in Tangier (North) have arrested Mohamed Aissa on Jan. 27 over suspicion of theft. The suspect turned out to be one of the most wanted criminals by Belgian authorities and had been sentenced to life in Belgium back in 2014, said the Belgian “Federal Police” on Saturday.
The suspect is one of two individuals who had robbed an apartment in Brussels in 2011 and killed its occupant. Aissa had managed to escape while his partner was apprehended.
Aissa was sentenced to life in absentia by the Brussels Court of Assizes and became a wanted fugitive since then.
On March 1, the suspect will appear before a judge who will decide how to proceed.
