On Tuesday in Rabat, Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate for the Budget and Head of the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the 2030 World Cup Bid Committee, met with the United States Ambassador to Morocco, Puneet Talwar, at the Ministry of Economy and Finance headquarters.
During the discussion, the two officials reviewed the current state of cooperation, recent economic developments, and important initiatives launched by Morocco under King Mohammed VI’s leadership.
They praised Morocco and the United States’ cooperation and committed to deepen these ties.
The U.S. Embassy in Morocco described the meeting as fruitful in a Thursday tweet on the “X” platform, stating, “Ambassador Talwar had a productive discussion with Minister Delegate Faouzi Lekjaa on Morocco’s 2030 World Cup goals and development ambitions, post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation, and Morocco’s financial strategies.”
The embassy indicated the U.S.’s willingness to support Morocco’s efforts, noting, “The U.S. stands ready to support Morocco on its exciting journey towards recovery and expanded development.”
