Customs and police authorities at the Bab Sebta border crossing (North Eastern Morocco) successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 86 kg of cannabis resin (locally known as Chira), and arrested the driver, who is of Spanish nationality, according to a customs source on Monday evening.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the trafficker was caught red-handed while attempting to smuggle the drug. The authorities discovered the concealed narcotics carefully hidden in gas bottles in a vehicle carrying a Spanish license plate, which was about to exit the national territory, as disclosed by the same source.
Both the vehicle and the seized drugs were taken into custody by customs, while the suspect was handed over to the police for further investigation into this criminal activity.
