On Sunday, FIFA released the calendar for the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, which will take place in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The tournament will start on June 11 at the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City and conclude on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
The total of 104 matches will be spread across 16 cities throughout North America, including Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, New York, Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Vancouver and Toronto.
The quarterfinal games will be held in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami, and Boston.
The semifinals are going to be contested in Atlanta and Dallas, with the third-place contest taking place in Miami.
Canada will host 10 group stage matches, with 5 in Toronto and 5 in Vancouver. Additionally, three knockout stage matches are scheduled to take place in the same country: two in Vancouver and one in Toronto.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed satisfaction with the schedule, for what promises to be an amazing football event, with 6 million supporters expected to attend and 6 billion viewers globally.
FIFA has widened its game format to accommodate 48 teams for the first time in history, with the players competing in twelve four-team groupings.
