Morocco participated in the second meeting of the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition’s (IMCTC) Council of Ministers of Defense in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on Saturday, and was represented by Abdelatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate for National Defense.
The meeting, chaired by Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, addressed the Coalition’s strategy to combat a multifaceted terrorism that spans intellectual, media, military, and financial spheres.
The chairman highlighted the importance of the ministers’ active participation, describing the convention as an extension of the inaugural meeting that established the alliance as well as a commitment to pooling efforts for regional and international peace and stability.
“The task is colossal, and the expectations are enormous, necessitating coordinated efforts, complementarity, cooperation, and partnership with various countries and international organizations,” he said.
The participants reaffirmed their determination to collaborating and making every effort to fight terrorism, stressing the importance of cooperation and strategic planning in eradicating this plague.
Made up of 42 member states, the IMCTC collaborates with partner countries and international organizations, and supports initiatives to counter terrorism.
