Spanish Minister of Integration, Social Security, and Immigration Elma Saiz confirmed during the meeting of the Ministry’s committee at the Congress of Deputies on Wednesday that Spain will continue to strengthen its relationship with Morocco in all areas.
She explained that in the new phase of bilateral relations, the Spanish government will look for ways to build upon the already solid relationship with the Kingdom in a variety of sectors.
Saiz recalled that Spain and Morocco signed approximately 20 agreements during their last meeting held on February 1-2, 2023 in Rabat.
She also highlighted that Spain endeavors to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fight against human trafficking and terrorism, as well as cooperation in the field of migration and the promotion of trade between the two nations.
The Spanish official emphasized that Morocco serves as a model for managing migration flows.
“We will provide better channels for legal and organized migration that will allow immigrants to integrate into society and the labor market, and enhance successful circular migration agreements such as those already in place, as is the case with Morocco,” she said.
