The Moroccan Tourism Office (ONMT) signed a partnership with The Spanish Confederation of Travel Agents (CEAV) and the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (APAVT) during the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) held January 24-28.
These relationships aim to make 2024 the “Year of Morocco” in the eyes of the top travel organizations from both countries occupying the Iberian Peninsula, through an annual action plan that will reach over 5,000 members of each confederation across Spanish and Portuguese territories, said ONMT in a press release on Sunday.
These initiatives will also help to enhance the perception of Morocco and promote the Kingdom’s cultural heritage, tourist destinations, cuisine, and all the other unique features that can enrich its offerings to travel agencies.
This partnership will also facilitate an environment conducive to exchange between Moroccan tourism professionals and Spanish and Portuguese distributors, added the same source.
The Portuguese group GEA awarded Director General of the ONMT Adel El Fakir the “Best International Destination” award for the Portuguese market.
The ONMT was honored with the award for “Best Stand” at the event, as well.
This distinction recognizes ONMT’s efforts for its innovative conceptual design for the Moroccan pavilion, highlighting the authenticity and openness of the Moroccan destination to the world, in line with the “Morocco – Land of Light” brand.
The new pavilion, spanning 700 square meters, includes dedicated spaces for the featured regions of Ouarzazate and Tangier.
