The African Football Confederation (CAF) Disciplinary Board reversed all sanctions against Moroccan team coach Walid Regragui, after the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) appealed the verdict, the FRMF said on Friday.
Coach Regragui had received a four-match suspension, two of them suspended for one year, and a fine of $5,000.
The CAF had fined FRMF $30,000, $10,000 of which was for Moroccan supporters’ use of smoke bombs, with $5000 suspended. The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) had also received a $20,000 fine.
The sanctions followed a post-match brawl between Morocco and Congo, during which Regragui was accused of engaging in “misconduct.”
The Morocco-Congo game concluded on Sunday with a 1-1 draw. The Moroccan team secured a place in the Knockouts (round of 16) by defeating Zambia 1-0 on Wednesday.
