Britain’s Manchester United football club has appointed Moroccan football executive Omar Berrada as its new President and CEO succeeding Richard Arnold, the club announced in a statement on Saturday.
“The club is committed to putting football and excellence on the pitch back at the heart of everything it does,” the statement read, “and Omar’s appointment marks the first step in this process.”
The appointment by the Red Devils recognizes Berrada as one of the most experienced managers at the top of European football, having significant knowledge and expertise in management and a proven track record of successful leadership, along with a passion for contributing to change within the club.
Currently Director of Football Operations at City Football Group, overseeing 11 clubs across five continents, Berrada has also held other senior positions, accumulating a wealth of experience through his time with FC Barcelona, Manchester City, and MLS teams. He has played a key role in transfers and contracts, notably the signing of Erling Haaland with Man City.
