Pakistan asserted that Iran had violated its airspace on Tuesday by firing missiles targeting two Jaish al-Adl sites in the Balochistan province of Pakistan that borders Iran, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani children.
Islamabad warned Iran that the incursion might have “serious consequences” and was “completely unacceptable,” Pakistan’s foreign office spokeswoman said in a statement early Wednesday.
On Monday, Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards launched missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria.
Tehran considers Jaish al-Adl, formed in 2012, a terrorist group that has carried out several attacks on Iranian soil in recent years.
“These bases were hit and destroyed by missiles and drones,” Iranian official media had reported previously, without providing further detail.
