Changan Automobile announced its imminent entry into the Moroccan market via Bugshan Automotive Group’s recent signature of partnership with the Kingdom, which marks an important step in the development and diversification of the automotive repertoire from which Moroccan consumers may choose.
Bugshan Automotive is a major player in automotive distribution in Morocco. It already represents brands such as Hyundai, Aston Martin, Tata Motors and Dongfeng. It now adds Changan to its portfolio, bringing to five the number of brands which it distributes.
The company’s Managing Director, Oussama Berrada, said that this collaboration demonstrates the entrepreneurial desire to enrich the Moroccan market with world-renowned brands–tailored to the mobility needs of its customers–while at the same time providing quality products and services as well as enhancing the company’s presence in the Kingdom.
Changan’s showroom will be in Ain Sebaa, Casablanca, enabling Moroccans to explore the complete product line, with prospects of quickly opening 10 additional showrooms throughout the country.
Changan, with over 160 years of industrial experience, is one of China’s leading automotive manufacturers. It offers a varied range of vehicles, from battery-charged electric to hybrid to gasoline-powered cars.
It boasted worldwide sales of over 1.5 million vehicles in 2023, making it the second-best-selling Chinese brand in the world up through the end of Q3 2023 (passenger cars). It has held the “China’s Most Reliable Brand” label for two consecutive years, issued by global consultancy firm JD Power.
