On Thursday, Hay Hassani’s judicial police brigade in Casablanca arrested a doctor working in a public hospital on suspicion of issuing a document containing false information and demanding a sum of money as a bribe.
The victim filed a complaint against the said suspect accusing him of blackmail and demanding a bribe of 7,000 dirhams in exchange for two medical certificates which describe a fabricated medical condition.
Following the complaint, the Casablanca police opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
Investigations into the case led to the arrest of the doctor in flagrante delicto for receiving a sum of money from the victim as a bribe, while the two medical certificates purporting to contain false data were seized.
The suspect was remanded in police custody pending further investigations, under the supervision of the public prosecution.
